Outside of the substation environment, which has power supplies and time-synchronisation sources there are a very limited number of measurements of voltage, current and mechanical parameters made. This comes down to the fact that about 90% of the cost of deploying instrumentation outside of that convenient substation environment comes not from the sensors themselves, but from the supporting infrastructure that must be build to support those measurements. Synaptec’s technology completely removes the requirement to have that supporting infrastructure in place. It inherently does not require any external power supply or time synchronisation source.
