Our board

Jim is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer and a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.

He joined Scottish Hydro Electric in 1995 and subsequently stayed with the SSE group until Dec 2016, when he took early retirement. Jim worked across the group at SSE in a variety of roles including General Manager of the Metering Business, Head of Networks in Scotland, Group HR Director and latterly he spent 3 years running the Enterprise B2B division of SSE. He was on the Executive Committee at SSE for nearly 15 years and was on the Board of Scotia Gas Networks from its formation in 2005 until 2016.

From 2017 Jim has concentrated on selected non executive director and advisory roles, helping companies across a number of sectors grow their businesses. His broad energy sector experience is very much in demand as organisations explore the increasingly distributed and fragmented energy landscape. Jim has a passion for safety, sales and customer service.
