Award-winning paper co-authored by Synaptec now available to download
Earlier this year, Synaptec’s Dr Steven Blair and Aneesh Chandran co-authored a paper which was selected as ‘Best Paper’ at the CIGRE Symposium 2025 in Trondheim, Norway. We are delighted to announce that the paper is now available to view in the latest edition of the CIGRE Science & Engineering Journal.
The paper ‘Transitioning to differential protection for offshore wind collector cables using passive sensing’, co-authored by industry protection experts Alexander Tsylin (Ørsted) and Bogdan Kasztenny (SEL), illustrates how distributed sensing can modernise protection of wind farms, providing fast fault clearance and restoration. By utilising this technique for differential protection in offshore wind, it maximises the yield of assets, increasing revenue and power available on the grid.
