Synaptec wins at 2014 Energy Innovation Awards
24 April 2014
Synaptec has been awarded the prize for Best University Technology at the 2014 UK Energy Innovation Awards.
Organised by the Energy Innovation Centre, and backed by leaders from the UK’s gas, electricity and renewables sectors, the UK Energy Innovation Awards celebrate the projects, technologies and talent at the forefront of innovation within the energy sector.
The judges had the following to say about their decision to award this year’s prize to Synaptec:
Synaptec’s measurement technology will facilitate a significant reduction in the communication infrastructure and operation time of protection and monitoring systems, enabling enhanced visibility and rapid control of smart grids, and helping to enable a lower carbon network.
Synaptec’s Managing Director, Philip Orr, said “We are honoured to have been recognised in this manner at such an early stage in our company’s growth and development. We see this as validation of the high potential of our technology to make a positive impact on the UK and global power industries, and we look forward to living up to the expectation such an award brings.”
