This week, the engineering and technology magazine The Engineer writes about Synaptec’s sensing technology, and how it can be used to provide fast and inexpensive fault location and isolation on electrical power transmission and distribution networks. Synaptec’s Managing Director, Dr Philip Orr, was interviewed by the magazine as part of the article, which concisely describes the technical and financial benefits of adopting Synaptec’s technology.
The measurements provide a complete picture of the line. Should a fault occur, the network operator can make fast, low-cost measurements to determine where a fault lies, even if the location is remote, allowing them to fix this quickly and reduce the amount that they are fined for network downtime.
